About Roller Derby
Roller derby is full-contact chess at 20mph—played on skates. Two teams of five battle it out in short, high-intensity bursts called “jams” as they race around an oval track.
Each team has one jammer—the point-scorer—who racks up points by lapping the other team. The rest? Blockers. Four per team, laying hits, setting traps, and clearing paths like a rolling battalion.
It’s fast. It’s physical. It’s packed with strategy and split-second decisions. Every jam is a collision of speed, grit, and teamwork—and that’s why it looks so damn good through a lens.

Up Close. In the Chaos. Built for Impact.
I dove into the roller derby scene in 2022, and it grabbed me fast—speed, strategy, full-contact mayhem. Perfect storm for high-drama visuals.
I don’t shoot from the sidelines. I shoot from inside the track, where the hits are heavier, the turns tighter, and the expressions raw. That’s where the real story lives—and that’s what I chase frame by frame.
Lighting in these venues? Brutal. But that’s part of the game. I’ve trained my gear and workflow to thrive in low-light, high-intensity environments. Whether it’s a flat track in Detroit or a warehouse in Grand Rapids, I bring cinematic clarity to the chaos.
If you’re a skater, a league, or a die-hard derby fan, let’s make your season look like legend.
